Established on 17th July, 1967, Amguri College remains the premier institute of higher education for Amguri and its surrounding areas. Affiliated to Dibrugarh University and recognised under the UGC Act, 1950, the college has been under the Grant-in-Aid system since 1977.

The college offers B.A. and B.Com degrees, runs Higher Secondary courses, and provides distance education programmes under DDEDC and KKHSOU. With over 1,500 students and enriched co-curricular activities, it is the hub of higher learning for the entire region.
